Susan Winlaw

Biography
Born in and raised just outside of Woodstock, ON, Susan then attended and graduated from the University of Guelph in 1973 and started a 33 year career with Sears Canada Inc. in Toronto. Starting in the textiles testing laboratory at Sears, Susan progressed through various levels of middle management in the retail stores, buying offices, catalogue inventory and IT areas. She managed various groups of associates and ran many projects for Sears. Susan trained sales and HR staff across Canada in their job functions and process improvements. Susan married Alexander Law in 1975 and joined him on his journalistic duties on many new car presentations all over the world. It was a particularly heady time with tris to Korea, Tokyo, Munich, Paris and of course Monte Carlo. Through these presentations Alex and Susan gathered much of the information to create their first joint publishing effort – Car Advice For Women (and Smart Men) in the fall of 2008. Susan makes presentations to groups regarding car safey. On a lighter vein Alex and Susan publish a series of themed movie review guide books. The first 3 are hard copy books and in 2012, they produced their first eBooks. Movies About Weddings, Movies About Christmas and Movies About Women are the physical books. They have published several eBooks on Amazon. Movies About the Sixties is one of them. Susan is an avid crafter with Dolls Clothing (Barbie + 18′ American Girl sizes), Crochet, Sewing and English Smocking top of the list. She is past President of the Markham Guild of Village Crafts, member of the Toronto Hookups Crochet Guild, past membership director of the Writers and Editors Network and Toronto chapter of eWomenNetwork. Susan is currently membership director of OWIN. Susan started working with Direct Sales products and Network Marketing Lines in 2007 when she came across Xocai Healthy Chocolate. Through sudden onset of Osteoarthritis in 2005, Susan found herself having to use a cane to walk. The high use of pain meds, led her to find a more natural solution. Use of this special dark chocolate from Xocai allowed Susan to completely eliminate the many pills she used to take to combat the pain and inflammation. How much more pleasant it is to eat a few squares of chocolate a day and be able to walk without a cane than to consume over 20 Tylenol for Arthritis, 12 Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM tablets in that same 24 hour period. Thie personal success made Susan a true believer in this natural remedy. Your Inspiration At Home (YIAH) came into Canada in late 2014. In spring of 2015 Susan became a consultant for this award winning Australian company of spices, herbs, oils, vinegars and other exciting products to help cooks of all skills to elevate the flavours and produce delights that can take you round the world. Unfortunately the company had some turmoil after opening on the New York stock markert and it was taken over by a US based company. Sigh. Susan still carries on the tradition of making Barbie Doll clothes and Smocked children’s outfits started by her wonderful Mom Dorthea Winlaw and her grandmother Olive Town. Susan is an Anglican and a member of St James church in Ingersoll. She manages the facebook page for St. James and is the Coordinator for the ACW, the Deanery of Oxford ACW rep and a member of the Diocesan ACW Council for Huron. Faith and Family are very important and Susan is thrilled to have returned to her childhood home area for this next chapter in her life.
